Live Updates: Severe Weather Disrupts Daily Life with Waterlogging, Traffic

operations. The downpours, including heavy overnight showers, are expected to
continue this week. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts moderate
to heavy rainfall in Mumbai throughout the day on July 8.

waterlogging in multiple areas. The IMD has forecast heavy rain in Maharashtra
over the next three to four days, impacting Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada
from July 8 to July 10, 2024.
The city recorded over 300 mm of rainfall in just six hours from 1 am to 7
am today. The Central Railways reported several train diversions and
cancellations due to the heavy rains. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is
working to clear waterlogged areas across the city.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, and the
Konkan belt. Vikhroli's Veer Savarkar Marg Municipal School and MCMCR Powai saw
