Triumphant Homecoming: Team India Returns to Heroic Welcome in Delhi

Prime Minister Modi to Host Breakfast for Victorious Cricketers

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team arrived in Delhi on July 4th with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 trophy, after their victory in Barbados on June 29th. Enthusiastic fans gathered outside Delhi airport and ITC Maurya Hotel, chanting "India, India" as they sought to catch a glimpse of their beloved players.

Originally scheduled to fly from Barbados to the USA and then to India via the UAE, the team faced delays due to Hurricane Beryl, which put Barbados on high alert from June 30th. In response, the BCCI organized a special chartered flight, ensuring the entire team, their families, and stranded media professionals could return home together.

Upon their arrival in Delhi, the team proceeded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. A breakfast meeting with the Prime Minister is planned for around 11 am, celebrating their hard-fought victory. India's triumph came with a seven-run win over Aiden Markram-led South Africa in the final match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

The team's return marks a joyous moment for Indian cricket fans, celebrating the remarkable achievement of their national heroes.
