Aishwarya Rai Bachchan defends her dramatic Cannes 2024 ensemble, calling it a 'magical' creation by Falguni Shane Peacock!

Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who graced the Cannes 2024 Day One red carpet in a striking black and gold Falguni Shane Peacock gown, has opened up about her outfit. In an interview with Vogue India, the Cannes veteran described her look as 'magical'.

 Aishwarya wore a dramatic monochrome gown with golden accents, which drew mixed reactions from the public and fashion influencers. Despite the criticism, she defended her choice, explaining, "The look of the last evening on the red carpet was designed by my dearest friends, Shane and Falguni Peacock. They called it 'Gilded Bloom'. To me, it was just magical." She also praised her makeup artists for their contributions to her stunning appearance.

On Day Two, Aishwarya continued to make bold fashion statements in a dramatic blue and silver ensemble by the same designers, despite having to wear a cast due to an arm injury.  The 77th edition of Cannes, running from May 14 to 25, celebrates the theme 'Many Ways To Be An Icon', focusing on confidence and self-empowerment.

 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' films, with her next project yet to be announced.
