Former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash Killed in Domestic Dispute!!
In a shocking development, former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP)
Om Prakash was found murdered at his residence in Bengaluru’s upscale HSR
Layout on Sunday. The 68-year-old retired IPS officer was discovered lying in a
pool of blood on the ground floor of his three-storey home.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that his wife, Pallavi,
allegedly threw chilli powder into his face before fatally stabbing him
multiple times with a knife during a heated altercation. The retired top cop,
who was a 1981-batch IPS officer from Bihar, died on the spot.
Following the incident, Pallavi reportedly made a video call to a friend,
during which she said, "I have killed the monster," according to
sources. The murder is believed to be the result of ongoing domestic disputes,
with investigators suspecting a property-related disagreement—particularly
involving land in Dandeli, Karnataka—played a role in the escalation.
Police have detained Pallavi, who has emerged as the prime suspect. Their
daughter, Kriti, has also been taken into custody for questioning in connection
with the case.
Sources also disclosed that Pallavi had previously approached the HSR Layout
police station to file a complaint, and when her concerns were allegedly not
addressed, she staged a sit-in protest outside the station. She is also
reported to have been undergoing treatment for schizophrenia.
Om Prakash, a native of Champaran in Bihar, held a Master’s degree in
Geology and served as Karnataka's DGP from March 1, 2015, until his retirement.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
