In a recent interview, Gurucharan Singh, famous for his role in Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, clarified that his abrupt disappearance was not a publicity stunt. Singh left his New Delhi home in April without any intention of coming back, which caused significant concern among his co-stars, fans, and family. After 26 days, Singh resurfaced and explained that he had embarked on a spiritual journey due to feeling particularly low.

Singh shared that he is a deeply spiritual person and decided to devote himself to God during this difficult period. He had no plans of returning but later received a sign from God, which prompted his decision to come back. Addressing accusations of his disappearance being a publicity stunt, Singh pointed out that if he wanted attention, he would have publicly discussed his pending dues from Tarak Mehta or created a buzz on social media. He noted that he refrained from giving interviews even after his return and only chose to speak now to clear up misconceptions.
