New Council of Ministers to Take Oath in Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan!

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and other members of the new council of ministers will take the oath of office at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9, 2024. Earlier in the day, Modi met President Droupadi Murmu to stake his claim to form the government after being elected as the leader by BJP-led NDA leaders. “The President will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7:15 pm on June 9, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan,” read a post from Rashtrapati Bhavan on X.

 Modi, having been officially appointed as the Prime Minister by the President, is set to advise her on the names of other persons to be appointed as members of the Union Council of Ministers. The NDA delegation, led by BJP president JP Nadda, presented letters of support from various NDA constituent parties to the President. Key leaders in the delegation included Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and others from NDA parties like N Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, and Ajit Pawar. The BJP-led NDA won a third successive term in the recent general elections with 293 seats, while the Opposition's INDIA bloc secured 234 seats.
